This is once again proof of the incompetence of this administration. There are plenty of clips and transcripts from Condi and Powell saying that there was no significant threat to national security posed by Saddam. The very same people have also said that Saddam had not reconstituted his nuclear weapons programs.
Now we learn that the CIA warned Bush about the consequences of this invasion and once again George W. has thrown caution to the wind. This country has been through hell over this war. Far worse than any trauma experienced as a result of Clinton and Monica getting together. Why has Bush not been impeached? How can we proceed knowing that blow job = impeachment, botched war under false premise despite strong warning against it = Mission accomplished?

I was driving home from work yesterday and heard a call on his show. The caller was commending Al Gore for suggesting an approximately $50.00 cut in payroll taxes and the caller was explaining how it would greatly help his family gas budget. Scumbag started laughing hysterically exclaiming that the caller was whining about a matter of $50.00 and that gas may be higher than it was in the past but to whine about $50.00 was ludicrous. This is the mindset of the elite right wingers. He acted like everyone in this country makes enough to shrug off the prospect of an extra $50.00 a paycheck. I am surviving the hikes with little or no problem but even my modest salary would see a positive impact from the tax reduction. We haven't had a minimum wage hike in recent history and there are a large number of Americans making $6.00 an hr or less. This is WELL below the poverty line. The next time you hear a conservative ridiculing a fellow American for needing $50.00, ,remember who you're voting for when you vote republican.

Well, any true President would have done that, Sir. You instead, used our troops as political pawns, then blamed the Democrats when you did so.
Not that these Democrats, who had this country’s support and sympathy up until 48 hours ago, have not since earned all the blame they can carry home.

Money in politics

I have long been a supporter of campaign finance reform. I have always felt that the current system supports the idea of a popularity contest that can only be won by the one with the most money. Someone like my very own dad doesn't have a chance in hell because A) He doesn't have the money, and B) He's too common of a man despite his uncommon personality.
We should allot the same amount of money and advertising to each candidate and let them duke it out. That way we're sure to allow for the common American the chance to serve their country's highest office.

Bush has always tried to tie Bin Laden to Iraq and for a while there the American public fell for the BS. Hopefully the CIA and the NSA's two cents here will turn the war around. We have been recruiting for al Qaeda's cause since the first day American troops landed in Iraq. We went from saying, "hopefully we'll find those WMD's", then the conversation went to "Maybe we'll be able to bring Saddam to justice", now we're still in the same situation and we don't even have anything to look forward to except pulling out. Don't count on that happening any time soon.

Granted we're a much richer country today then back then but it would be hard to argue that the monies spent in Iraq couldn't be better spent elsewhere. We had the oppertunity to take the 300+ billion spent on Iraq and better secure our country. Instead, we invade a country under false premise and as a result have made Americans less safe overall.

A year ago this month, in his West Point commencement address, President Bush compared himself to Harry Truman. On this, Truman's 123rd birthday, we take this opportunity to replay last year's C&J-sponsored debate in which the 33rd president mopped the floor with the 43rd:

And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those...changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be...or closer delivered to what has been promised. Does that make any sense to you? It's kind of muddled.

Bush: There are some who feel like that if they attack us that we may decide to leave prematurely. They don't understand what they are talking about if that's the case. Let me finish. There are some who feel like that the conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is bring `em on.

GOOD! There is nothing wrong with recognizing the need for prevention. Abstinence is great, we all agree but it's not the only method to address the problems associated with pre-marital and sex for America's youngsters.

This is a very good thing for consumers. You either own the rights to play that song or you don't. Lifting all restrictions on the purchased content is the right thing to do.

Personal response to previous article
While I strongly agree with the anti-war movement, I don't believe that getting the troops out of Iraq is the only issue that dems should address.
1)Unity
We had a chance to unite the world around America's cause after 9/11. Instead of doing this we have pushed the world away and made it appear as though America is a bully. We all knew that during the first gulf war that Saddam couldn't even project conventional warfare on his neighbors much less America. Don't feed me that bullshit line that if we fight them there, they won't come here.
2)Civil Liberties
There has never been such open surveillance on the home front and we're just allowing it to happen. Recently Israelis took to the streets to protest the mismanagement of the month long conflict with Lebanon. There should be millions in the streets of America protesting the illegal actions of the Bush administration.
3)Foreign Policy as a whole
Since when did getting to know your enemy become a reward to the enemy. Basic strategy tells you that you should have open dialogue with your enemy so that you know what they are up to. Common sense is not a reward...
The democrats can capitalize on the next election by using the common sense that was not so common in the Bush years.

I have long thought that the death penalty process itself was inhumane. I cannot imagine waiting to die and it would be hard to believe that the process itself is anything other than inhumane. I realize that the crimes committed to have been placed in such a situation must have been horrific and unfathomable but to duplicate the same in the name of justice is just wrong. We know for a fact that throughout history there have been innocents executed in the name of justice. If it were only one person it would have invalidated the entire process.
